The Deadliest Place on Earth for Christians - Iraq?

Today, Iraq is "one" of those on the top of "my" list. Islamic terrorists are daily patrolling the streets checking citizen ID's. If you are a Christian, the odds are extremely good that their response will be a gunshot to your head.

Here in the United States we don't need numerous armed gaurds stationed outside our churches as they do in Bethlehem. We are not enduring intense & continued persecution as the dwindling population of Palestinian Christians are. We aren't Iraqi Christians apprehensive to move about on our own streets, oppressed by the same spirit of fears that the Jews once were, back in the days when Nazi's ruled... But, then again, this isn't the Middle East, is it?

We can't turn a blind eye to this situation which is not brought to the publics attention by the mainstream media. Fortunately, there are groups who are aware and serving the persecuted in these oppressive nations.

Death and Terror in Nigeria

Several days ago a wave of terror and persecution against Christians occurred which some news agencies attributed to the outcome of political elections. However, it appears to have been well planned and began before the actual results of the elections had been made official and no violence against political institutions occured. Hundreds have been killed (very possibly well over 1,000) and an estimated 30,000 people have been displaced by violence. Much of the city of Northern Jos has been decimated. False reports by the International media placing blame on Christians for the death of 300 Muslims were later refuted. The violence has been geared towards Christians, but as "non local" Muslims are joining in these efforts some Muslims are being accidentally killed as because the helpers do not know "who is who". Expect the blame of all Muslim deaths to be placed on the Christian population whether they are responsible or not.

There are fears that this false reporting being done by the media will incur more violence and unrest in other parts of Nigeria. The pattern is very similar to events in Orissa State, India where there is still violence occurring after many weeks. In the case of Nigeria and the recent terrorist bombings in Mumbai, there is a continuing trend in the MSM to report this kind of violence from a "pro-Islam slant" and parrot the propaganda they are being fed, redirecting cause and accountability to the (victims) targets themselves or else to government or those not really responsible, instead of those perpetrating the acts of violence and terror.

Quoted by Christian Solidarity Worldwide...

"Of even greater concern to the local community were international news reports that implied that Christians had killed 300 Muslims over the weekend, whose bodies were deposited at the central mosque in Jos, when in reality, they died while obeying orders from a mosque in the Dilimi area, which was using its loudspeakers to instruct all Muslims to ignore the authorities, participate in the “jihad”, loot properties for money and then burn them. Local security sources confirm the rioters were shot while defying the “shoot on sight” curfew and launching fresh attacks, including an unsuccessful large-scale assault on police barracks..."

"Jihad" is considered to be a holy war, but remember those who support Jihad many times use politics and political events as springboards to accomplishing their goals and furthering their agenda. What is happening now in Nigeria, is one such example.
